The Niobrara shale formation is situated in northeastern Colorado and parts of adjacent Wyoming, Nebraskia and Kansas.  Primarily an oil play, it is in the DJ Basin, which has long been a major oil and gas province.  The Niobrara is considered to be one of the major resource plays in the country.

Pacific Energy Development's Niobrara Asset is located in Weld and Morgan Counties, Colarado.  The asset covers an area of 10,224 gross acres, where the Company holds a net 27.13% working interest. 

MIE Holdings Corporation (HK:1555), a Hong Kong listed upstream oil company operating in China and Kazakhstan, is a strategic partner with Pacific Energy Development in this Nioborara Asset.

DEVELOPMENT STATUS

1st Well - FFT2H well

• Spudded in April 2012 and drilled to a total combined vertical and horizontal depth of 11,307 feet.  Completed lateral section in 20 stages in July 2012 with an IP rate of 437 boepd from the Niobrara “B” Bench target zone

2nd Well - Waves 1H well

• Spudded in November 2012 and drilled to 11,114 feet measured depth.  4,339 foot lateral section completed in 18 stages in February 2013 with an IP rate of 528 bopd and 360 mcfgpd (a total of 588 boepd) from the Niobrara “B” Bench target zone

3rd Well - Logan 2H well

• Spudded in November 2012 and drilled to a vertical depth of approximately 6,150 feet and a total horizontal length of approximately 6,350 feet.  Completed lateral section in 25 stages in January 2013 with an IP rate of 522 bopd and 360 mcfgpd (585 boepd) from the Niobrara “B” Bench target zone.
